key fob programming
hi all,
I have two spare D2 keys which i want to have programmed to my vehicle, these did not come with my vehicle so are from another D2. Two indep LR mobs have not been able to program because 'there is no barcode'. I was under the impression that a nancom or hawkeye can program without a barcode? is this true? And obviously indep mechanics don't use this software but autologic ... which cant seem to do the same things. Can i still program these keys or do i need to purchase new ones. thx

If you like give me a call and we'll tee up a time to meet up and we can see what I can do. Have nanocom unlocked for D2 V8 but will work for TD5 BCU's etc (everything but engine). Ph 0414 369 885

Met up with Joe on the weekend. Got everything reprogrammed without an issue. With the Nanocom you don't need to have the barcode to program it, the Nanocom will identify the key for you in the sync mode.
Joe's problem was that the key he was using was no disengaging the immobiliser, requiring the car to be relocated and unlocked be fore starting. The fob he was using had need setup as the suspension plip somehow and still worked to unlock/lock the car, just within a few seconds of unlocking it would rearm the passive immobiliser.
Another interesting thing I found was that one of the keys was what I've found to be the common type, where on the circuit board (on the battery side) there's two small yellow chips on it, the one on the right (with the battery to the bottom) fits into the recess on the back of the fob. There was another key that did not have the second chip on it, instead there was a chip in the recess on the fob back.
By shuffling the codes around we managed to get the spare key to work correctly and then the first key that was listed as the suspension plip also into a key spot and working as well.
Unfortunately someone tried to repair one of hone buttons and killed another of his spare keys. They had burnt whole legs off the main chip.

Hi - don't suppose your Nanocom is unlocked for D1 300 tdi? After two years of intermittent operation of my one fob, I bit the bullet and got two new ones from the UK, but now need to programme.
Cheers

thx clubagreenie, update
many thx for your efforts and help on the weekend.
the main key does work fine but has fallen ill to the damn immobiliser issue again so have swapped over to using the (other) spare key now and that one seems to be ok so far. ie no immobiliser (red light) after a quick stop and restart. so seems one has worked out ok but the other has not. either way i have one good one for now.
cheers again for your time and effort clubagreenie.

I don't have D1 listed in the menus in the Nanocom, the process for syncing these is manual I think but I'm not entirely sure. The D1 is a lot simpler in it's operations than the D2. A LOT simpler.
Joe, that main key is the one with the odd chip isn't it? I'm pretty sure that's part of the issue. I have a spare board here, I'll test it to make sure it's functional and we can set it up for yours so you have a spare.

Thanks for checking - unfortunately the latter D1's can't be manually synch'd. The D1 is generally pretty simple, but not on this and without the fob working you need the EKA code even to unlock the doors - and of course the code I managed to get from the dealer doesn't work (probably a problem with the micro-switch on the lock)
Cheers
