Stevo. I got mine today. Can you help with some answers for me.

Which wire did you used for the SCU input, brown or white?

How did you calculate the switching? In the instructions it says to drive one Km and count the pulses. How or where do these pulses come from?

In the Ratio Interface Table there are four columns.
1/In/Out Ratio
2/5000 P
3/6250 P
4/2548 P.

Do you know what this all means?

What vehicle have you installed yours in?

Installing this should be fairly easy. How to calibrate it was definitely designed by some one a lot smarter than me.(Not that that would take much:))

I used the brown wire for the input, I set the switches to 10011010 use that as a starting point I set mine so at 100km gps it is reading 100km on speedo and found 60km on speedo was 58km on gps. this was fitted to TD5 auto Discovery.


If you find the switch setting above is wrong for your vehicle working your way up the list of codes will make your speedo read slower and going down the page will make your speedo read faster.


Took me an hour to get right find a long straight road where you can pull off to make adjustments. mine is working great, I have two sets of tyres will not be that big a deal to change the settings and will take note where the switch settings are for what size tyres.

Has anyone looked into the compatibility of the Jaycar correction units?

apparently they do not work will cause an error code in the ecu, would probably be ok in the older cars that use a sensor off the back of the transmission

Stevo. Did you do it the same as slunnie's install, that is by cutting the pink with green stripe wire that come from the SLABS ecu?

Also I see you are running 33's on your D2. Do they fit with out rubbing?

Yes use Slunnies method it seems the best as it brings everything in line with same speed readings, The rims I use with the 33s are offset so no rubbing when turning.

Just finished fitting and setting mine. Mine went the other way though. When I went down the page mine read slower. Final setting 11101010 D2 with 265/75/16 rubber.

Got it spot on at 100 and it is pretty right at 80, 60 and 50.

Having done a bit of research before purchasing I thought these had a switch with two settings for those that run two different tyre sizes.

It's the Truspeed unit that has the switch.

I have just fitted one of these too, they are still available from Hunter Di Spares, price has gone to $175 delivered now.
Needed after going from original 255/65R16 to 265/70R16 which put speedo out by about 9km/h at 100km/h. Switch setting 01101010 ratio 0.9301 put everything pretty much spot-on through range. Cruise control works normally, have not found any problems with instal.

Vehicle is 2004 D2a V8 auto bought earlier this year with only 32000km on the clock, still on original Michelin tyres. Only used as city car.
Starting to look more like a proper 4wd now with a few additions:)

I can find minimal info about Hunter DI Spares online, would like to know where the unit actualluy originates from.
