    Reinstalling side mirror glass

    Hi All,



    Just wondering if there are any tricks to reinstalling the side mirror glass. I bumped the LH side one and the mirror popped out.


    After gluing back the broken bits (the shiny areas) on the internal motorized plate I realised I had no idea how to put them back on.


    I have had a go reinstalling them, searched AULRO and RAVE, however I haven't had much luck with either - Any suggestions?

    The mirror just pushes onto the back plate you have repaired, in my case the glass broke so I brought a new mirror and backing plate.

    They can be a PITA or just clip in easy..
    You need to slip one end of the mirror clip into its holder then click the other end in... careful you dont dislodge the little ball pins that make the glass move... You then need to start all over again... such fun...
    Just be patient... when you get the knack they are easy...

    Re fitting

    Best to use a new clip the plastic degrades
    a smear of lube or washing up liquid helps.

    Refitting trick is to not put the backing plate on fully onto the motor plinth to allow it to move in when putting the mirror onto it, (leave outer side off slightly) the mirror glass then clicks into place and then another push and the back plate clicks on fully.
