    D2 V8 Auto problems

Ok, trying to diagnose a problem with my old man's D2.

I drove it over the weekend and was able to get a better idea of the problem.

Starts and runs fine, but at times the engine seems reluctant. Also at low revs with a load it seems to begin jerking under a constant throttle application. a bit of a boot and change down and it is fine.

Even under solid revs where it is normally fine it can be a problem of late, accellarating up to 60 up a hill, constant pedal pressure and the motor is surging which is odd.

MAF was cleaned recently and seemed to help for a little while. I disconnected the MAF and it seemed to help a little (only a short drive so hard to tell). not sure if that indicates the MAF is a problem or not.

Leads, coil and plugs have been suggested, but i'm not sure those are the root of the problem. any ideas?

    Find a good known MAF.

I had a very similar problem, surging under load and wouldn't change into 4th. Rebuilt the auto and $4000- later it still had the same issue. Don't want you to end up in the same boat.

Swap the MAF and also find a Nanocom or similar to look at the fault codes. Note: Auto limp modes and codes don't necessarily point at an auto issue either. Just means that something has caused it to happen.

Justin Cooper would be my first point of call in your neck of the woods and it's only a morning trip for you.
