    Buying parts from overseas

Hi all. I need some new o2 sensors and a few other things. Contacted local and the prices are ridiculous.

I looked at British parts of Utah and john craddock. Good pricing. I sent emails to both. No replies.

Have people been using them do I trust. Am I supposed to get a price for international delivery? I really could do with those sensors. I'm chewing through over 22l per 100 and it's killing me. I'll get plugs and service at the same time but don't want to line the pockets of the local bastards. Ideas appreciated.

I've bought from mainly UK stores like Paddockspares, there's a lot of stuff on eBay and you can see the delivery cost there.

I've bought a couple of times from the UK, wabco air compressor and a few other parts and all has been good. Would highly recommend it, just use the well known places though.

I purchase almost all my parts from O/S

    Land Rover = UK
    Honda = USA

I use Britcar UK and they have always been good for me (about 4 years).

You can use live chat on their website so a repsonse is the same as a phone call to the local dealer (call at ~7 pm in Oz to speak to them in business hours there).

    Regards
    Andrew

I can only order from overseas.

Got my O2 sensors from Rimmers as most parts. Always get a reply and generally dispatch next day.

I tried Islands 4x4, but after 5 e-mails and 3 O/S phone calls gave up.

    Cheers, Jerry

Ok so it's not just me. Bloody Utah has a bit saying they do overseas deliveries. I'll try the suggestions so far. Thanks.

I just ordered yesterday a whole heap of bits from them (island 4x4), and must admit its about my third of fourth purchase from them and if I have questions about things its not worth the hassle, but I have had a return and they were great and if you know what you want they are well priced for some things.

I usually shop about and always wait until I want a few things and compare the few big major websites to get the best deal including shipping, as with somethings its still good to buy local - I also ordered during the week a radiator expansion bottle and some huge air filters and after postage Karcraft was best.

I try to buy filters and consumables locally - quite often get some good advice from my local independent LR shop, the few extra dollars on the parts is neither here nor there. I don't begrudge them being a little more expensive, the overheads of a running a shop would be high.

Ive bought higher value and one off parts from Rimmer I highly recommend them, and their website is a good one, Paddocks also has a good site
