    V8 ECU

Does anyone know if it is possible to get the D2 V8 ECU to run outside of its parent vehicle - ie not connected to the BECU etc - also are the ECUs different between auto and manual vehicles.

    Thanks

Hawkeye or Nanacom with allow a setting of whether your vehicle is auto or manual. Using a donor ECU just use the learn security function and it will recognise the donor ECU. once the BCU recognises it you can then use and ECU that's been fitted to it prior, I tried out 3 ECUs in my Disco and if I wanted to, I can simply swap and it's plug and play as the BCU recoginses each one with no rejection

Thanks but I am asking will the ECU work outside the donor vehicle (in fact a completely different vehicle) - so no BECU, gearbox or security for it to talk to.

I have been told the ECU will not work but I get told a lot of things on forums so am seeking confirmation or otherwise.

    Cheers
