    D2V8 2001 Noisey Reversing

    Hi,

    When reversing, it makes a fairly unpleasant noise, kind of a mix of electrical buzzing and mechanical grating. Has got progressively worse since xmas. Isnt that loud when on complete flat, but if on a hill, or like with my driveway backing up it is quite a loud noise. Is this spelling out doom for the gearbox etc? Will it last a while or is it likely to just give up the ghost completely any minute? Havent noticed any noises in any other gears.....!

    Its a 2001 D2 V8 HSE 7 seater, with approx 158k km on the clock. Bought it about 15months ago.

    Do you have a Detroit locker? Mine makes some disconcerting noises in reverse.

    Mine is one of the ones that doesnt have a CDL.....as far as i know....
