    'Coupla Questions??

    Foto Attached does this mean i have a 4.6ltr engine.
    Bore = 94mm
    Stroke =83mm
    Going to give it the total rebuild
    any suggestions for mods/upgrades would be appreciated
    had the heads off anyway so decided to pull it out and do the lot
    stop the oil leaks for a week or so.
    it is a dual fuel engine with gas vapor injection.
    I'm in Wollongong so any suggestions on parts suppliers (local or mail order) would help also
    Cheers
    Paul

    I've never actually seen a Thor crank,, but castings dont lie.
    Top hat liners first thing.
    new cam and followers.
    You could double your spend just by headwork--

    I'd like to get rid of the cat pipes,
    can I assume the O2 sensor would work in the muffler?
    is exhaust gas flow speed a critical component of the sensor?

    well castings do not lie ,Pedro, just that they often are just that, castings. Obscurely placed for the casting tracking process, Just have to know how to read them . Stampings on the other hand are usually much more to the point and relevant.
    That 4.6 on the crank looks to me more a stamping than a casting so is quite likely says what it says. best way is check the crank throw length though. If there is no other information available. Could be like a 186 holden with a 202 crank!

    the O2 sensors are before the Cats towards the exhaust flanges on both sides
    so it shouldn't affect their operation.
    What cam did you have installed in yours?
    mine is used mainly for towing a 3.5T boat.
    cheers

    Turners recommend a Kent H180 in the 4.6 for towing, I need the 4.6 fuel map to finish the job.

    all I know is it now goes much better than the 4L
