Water in fuel light
I have noticed in the past few weeks that it has been appearing for short bursts , usually in the cool of morning esp if it has been raining or a heavy dew. I have taken a couple samples from the drain and all appears fine , no seperation of liquids. Would a exposed or chafed wire be the cause or is there some where else I should look or should I just omit the sensor and put the bung in that comes with the filter ?

Believe this is a common fault. Goggle your topic title and add Td5.

I found mine would come on after filling at a certain petrol station ( Diesel station ?) could not find any trace of water.
You could try adding a diesel additive or using winter diesel if you can get it. It might be brought on with the colder weather.
I no longer use that service station (sic) and haven't had a problem.
