Hi all, just double checking if there's any risk in resetting the Auto trans adaptive values?

    Adaptive Values Reset - Risks

As I understand resetting adaptive values can cause some issues, as resetting of adaptive values is not automatic.
It is necessary to run through the various Drive Cycles as stipulated in RAVE to enable adaptive values to be reset & unless you have completed all of the Drive Cycles in the requisite order not all values cannot be reset.

Did you notice any difference? In particular, did your shift points change?

    Cheers.

I should have noted my main drive for wanting to reset the values is to hopefully lower my 1-2 shift point to a lower rpm. Not sure whether resetting will change shift behaviour.

    some thoughts:
Do you have a "Sport" mode on the transmission?... = higher up/down shift points
If so, does it make any difference when you engage/disengage sport mode?
Is the "S" light on the instrument panel operating to let you know it's in sport mode? if the bulb has failed it may be in Sport mode but you are not aware of this...

If you are sure that the transmission button is not in "Sport" mode, try driving with a very light foot from standing start ...consistently... the adaptive system will pick up and store this info and should drop the shift point... see also http://www.nanocom-diagnostics.com/d...1015658551.pdf ...the top paragraph talks about the Disco 2 auto transmission ECU "learning" from the driver's "driving style" ...

Thanks Hoges. Im definitely not in sport mode. I can confirm the button and the "S" light are operation but never engaged in "sport" mode.

I'll have a read of the link provided. Cheers

Nope, nothing really changed for me.

Although I may look up the proper procedure and run through it now.
