CDL Switch Wires/Terminals
Hi All,
I found one of the lugs on the CDL switch broken off. The gearbox and transfer case have been out recently so figured thats what did it. I didn't worry too much as I don't have the lever to engage it anyway. But
I was going to modify it to get it to work so I bought a new switch and replaced the switch. The wires were dangling close to the front drive prop shaft so I zippy tied the cable to a lug just above the switch but made sure there was plenty of slack.
I made a failed attempt to make a CDL linkage out of a bonnet release cable (engages ok but too springy to disengage it).
I went 4WDing on the weekend and the CDL light didn't come on? Good thing is it didn't disengage the traction control.
I have just crawled underneath to check why and one of the lugs is broken off the new switch??? The cables aren't tight or anything.
Anyone got any ideas?

Well a bit of an update..
I fitted my D2A CDL lever today so now I have CDL on demand.
Now I have the lever I got nervous - what if it gets bumped into lock on the road as the light doesn't work????
So while I wait for another new one to come in, I pulled it out again, by the way it is a Britpart switch. I noticed all that holds on the terminals is a 1mm pin peened over and it had pulled off.
My fix was to:
1. Drill out the terminal hole to fit over the pin and solder it back on and solder other one too.
2. Add some superglue around the terminals so hopefully it will wick in and let it dry.
3. I used 5 minute Araldite and covered the top of the switch with the terminals poking out to allow connecting.
I let it dry for a while and tested it on the bench, pass first time.
I carefully refitted it to the transfer case and tested the dash light, pass.
So now I'll let it dry properly overnight and see how it goes tomorrow.

They are absolute rubbish they will continue to fail you can get them with the
Lugs moulded straight into the switch body .
Try karcraft at silverwater they have both type .
