The intercooler hangs off the radiator and the inlet and outlet pipes hug the body of the radiator. Plus the oil cooler fits in a bracket off the radiator below the intercooler and is difficult to release unless you make some space by removing the intercooler. It is one of those jobs that the more you remove the easier it is - that is remove front grille, fan shroud, fan, disconnect all hoses from radiator and intercooler, and I even found removing the battery and battery tray gives you better access to removing all the hoses.

When you screw the fan shroud top support back onto the radiator, be very careful not to over torque as the radiator is super thin and the screw can push straight through putting a hole in your new radiator. You could even not reuse and cable tie instead.

And take lots of care with the bottle overflow return line that runs along the top of the radiator. The pipe is brittle and cracks easily, any twisting or bending and it will snap on you. I learnt the hard way.....

I've replaced mine sometime in the last 12 months. I still have the old one in the shed.

Let me know if you make it to Darwin before you change it.

    Happy Days

I second that overflow bottle return hose is very brittle. I had it brake on me at the big4 caravan park in alice couple of months back. I ended up replacing the plastic line with radiator hose from repco in alice. Now the same overflow return line fitting out of the radiator has let go.... Time for a new radiator an while I'm there new hoses an thermo.
