Hey all,
I removed the gearbox today to replace the clutch. Fingers were fine, clutch plate was fine, throw out bearing was a bit rough and noisy. But it was the flywheel that was shot.
It had about 3mm of play in it.
Now the gearbox question.
I don't have the money to strip the box down to put a kit through it. And the input shaft has a little play in it. How much is acceptable?
Thanks in advance brains trust.
Will.
Yep.
With the input shaft movement, would it be a little bit of sideways and with no end float?
.
That would be the one.
Remember there always a bit of play till its back in the spigot that's when its supported properly i would rotate the input and output shafts and carefully feel for any roughness in the bearing although its not easy to feel unless there really bad.
Thanks guys. It feels smooth through both the outputs. So hopefully I can get that heavy bugger back in on the weekend.
Thanks again.
Will
