I have a 2004 td5 auto with 155ks up. I have just had the injector seals, washers and bolts replaced (MR automotive do the bolts as well) as I noticed a slow increase in the oil level. I figured this was from leaking injectors and could be expected around these ks. Don't have any intention of touching the head unless there are some big signs I should. As someone else has said the D2a don't seem as prone to head issues as the earlier models, at least not at these ks.

that's great that your motor's now fine, those Turner heads have a good rep on here. How long did you drive it while you had a leaking head? Yes another opinion may well be warranted. I have used KHOR in Brisbane for many years, they are LR only specialists and they know there stuff.

I do know M R Automotive out at Redcliffe they have a good rep too. So they put new head bolts in too, interesting.
Maybe I should have the oil tested? As well as have the head bolts done.
I just don't want to damage the rest of the motor. New injectors would come with a new head wouldn't they?

Head bolts in Aus $225, can get from UK for approx. $100 go figure.

Does the head have to come off to do this? If so KHOR would have done the head bolts too I imagine.
Don't forget that the injectors are serialised and MUST be put back in the location they came from. If you swap them around the engine won't run (or will run really rough). If you fit new injectors you will need a Nanocom, Testbook or the like to reprogram the ECU with the new injector serial numbers.
I spoke to a mechanic (not mine) and got a Quote today for approx. $6000 complete to replace the head, that was including $3900 for the Turner head and $700 for the other parts etc so approx. $1400 labour/say $90 an hr so 15.5hrs work.
So does 2 days works sound about right?
Of the $4600 above for parts I can buy direct for $2850, so a big saving. The only problem the mechanic said was that he can't guarantee my parts. I have a $1750 buffer if I supply my own parts, fair risk really????

There is diesel mixed with oil in the sump every time I get it serviced, doesn't that mean that KHOR are correct with their diagnosis (they are LR specialists)? Or is it the quantity that's the problem?
