    Speedo correction D2 on 32's

    Hi guys,
planning on fitting a set of 32" tyres sometime in the next week or two to my otherwise standard D2 (Factory alloys, going for 265/75/16 BFG KM2 Mud terrains)
That's not what this topic is about though.

Im aware that this'll throw out my speedo by about 10%
(so 100km on the speedo- actual is 110)

will probably be fitting a speedo corrector unit (probably the Jaycar unit)
    and have 2 questions.

1- Will the speedo corrector also adjust the mileage/odometer- ie is the odo also dependant on the speedo input cable? (by cable I mean wire)

2- Anyone abl to advise what wire to tap the speedo corrector unit into for the speedo signal?

    Cheers, Cameron

I think you will find that the jaycar one will not work, I have fitted one to my car from a mob in Sydney, called a C6100 from hunter di spare parts phone number is 0413813698, email hunterdispares@yahoo.com.au.

Quick service and if you do a search Slunnie (not sure if I spelt that right) has an excellent way to wire these up and has pics that will help you find the wires.

Have u checked ur speedo with the 265s on against something like GPS speedo or similar? Keen to see exactly how "out" it is.

Any particular reason why the Jaycar one won't work though?
From my understanding all the module does is modify the input signal and output it with an adjustment based on an adjustable potentiometer..
Cheers for the contact though, I'll suss that out once I get them tyres on

Cheers Sierrafery, that link found me the correct pin I'll need!

I haven't yet fitted the new rubber Phat,
Ordered them and waiting for them to come in.

But a few people who've fitted them suggest a 10% variance, along with all the rolling diameter calculators too

Does anyone know if the odometer reading is also based upon/adjusted with the fitting of a unit?

the odometer works on the same signal like the speedo, the corrector must be compatible with the VSS output from the SLABS ECU which is a 8000 pulse/mile PWM signal with amplitude between 0 -12v

I've checked in the last week or so since I put the 265/75's on, and 10% is pretty well spot on.

Yep. The Jaycar will not work. I used the same as above, followed Slunnie's tutorial and all works a treat. I have 265/75/16.
    Dave.

I was asked " Is it ignorance or apathy?" I replied "I don't know and I don't care."

The problem seems to be how the 1hz base diagnostic frequency is affected by many speedo correction units.

Here is a guide for fitment.
