    Fitted turbo box

What boost is ideal on older TD5. Without stressing it.

300km current boost Nanacom .74. EGT 50-80 DegC lower than previous.

    Any suggestions / comments. (Relevant)

mines got about same mileage and I gettuppit.

shows 19-20 psi at full noise.

nothin seems to bother it no matter how hard I drive it.

I have no idea about egt and until I had my d2 had only ever monitored egt when flying.

I dont monitor my egt at all

Er... If you've fitted a boost box as your title would suggest, the readings from the Nanocom are completely useless... The Nanocom tells you how much boost the engine ecu is seeing, and the whole point of the boost box is to 'hide' some of the boost from the engine ecu.

Best to borrow or install a proper boost guage to set boost. Anything else is guesswork, especially without knowing what electronic scheme the boost box is using to alter the reading.

    The above statement is correct.

Alive Tuning (previously named TD5 Alive) recommended 18psi as the safe setting for when adjusting after fitting their Turbo Boost Box.

The VNT kits generally achieve up to around 21psi.

I'm seeing about 23 psi after remap. Stock was 21 psi. (Measured at the modulator inlet, not manifold)

I'm wondering if that is a sign of a restrictive intercooler or just normal? I've got the wastegate rod set to standard.

    Anyway, no smoke.

The standard/factory setup for D2 is to get to max 230kpa MAP then the overboost protection kicks in... so for an average AAP of 100kpa the boost remains 130kpa/1.3bar=19psi, so anything above 19psi is a gain and improvement from standard IMO as long as you dont exagerate as to boost the sh*t out of the engine

Just for info, I bypassed the boost modulator. Boost dropped from 23psi to 19psi.
