Auto box feels strange in 1st, 2nd and 3rd
Hello all,
This is my first post. I have searched the forums but cannot find anything on this particular issue so thought I would put the question out there. I have a 2003 TD5 automatic Disco. When in D the autobox works fine and selects all gears as it should, however if I select 1st, 2nd or 3rd the lever feels wrong. It does not travel smoothly and does not click into gear. I have just adjusted the selector cable as per RAVE instructions but this did not make any difference. When I had the cable disconnected from the box I could manually move the selector arm on the box and all gears clicked into place nicely so I suspect there is something wrong with the selector or cable. Does anyone out there have any experience with this issue? Cheers in advance.

I can recall a while ago when someone had this problem, the suggested fix was to look for chewing gum, lollies, coins etc in the selector mechanism, placed there by idle little hands.
