I have just replaced my tyres (BFG A/T LT245-70-16 KO) and had alignment done.
2000 D2 diesel, F 36/R 40psi cold. +40mm OME springs. All ball joints/track ends etc <50000 km, new panhard bushes, 2deg castor bushes (Superpro). No backlash in steering box or linkages. Handles like new, from suburban speeds to above state limit, various quality asphalt surfaces, gravel road driving is fine too. No shaking or pulling even under ABS-operating hard braking. Final alignment figures from report:
Rear.
Camber L. -4', R. 0
Toe. L. -1.6mm, R. +4.1mm
Total toe. +2.5mm
Setback -0*01' (not sure what this refers to sorry)
Front.
Castor. L. +4*32' R. +4*56'
Camber. L. -0*51' R. -0*09'
Toe. L. +0.1mm R. +0.4mm. (+ means in)
Total toe. +0.6mm
Setback. -0*04'
These values were set using tyreshop's database, not RAVE. I told them I'd be back if not happy, since factory settings not used. They said oem data could be unreliable, come back if not happy...As I said, drives like new.
Perhaps Transtar you have other front end problems as jc has mentioned, especially if lifted or oem data is wrong. A skilled aligner should be able to detect worn components. The above setup works really well for my vehicle.
Regards and good luck, Jason.
