    Anti Lock Brakes

I've a 2001 Disco 2, when it's dry and I brake hard, it stops without issue but when it's wet, the wheels lock up and I hear a growling sound and vibration from the brake pedal. In the past, the Three Amigos came on after turning hard left in reverse but using the AB Amigo device, they went out but the wheels still lock in the rain.
If I replace the Shuttle Valve assy, will this fix the problem or is there something else that I need to do? John.

That growl and vibration through the pedal is the ABS working and the wheels shouldn't be locking, not if you are getting the vibration/pulse through the pedal, that the system unlocking the brakes.

The D2 ABS is quite noisey, not as noisey as the Prado or Jeep though.

    agree with redback..
ABS when operated, is noisy and the rumbling, grinding sound can be quite worrying 😨

And the "skidding sound" is also normal.

To test it properly go find some dry gravel that's wide and safe.
Get to about 50 and as you enter a gentle. Corner ash the brakes and hold them.
When you've stopped get out and go look at the tracks. They should look like a series of very short skids and not one long continuous one.

    I think Blknight means 50kmh not 50mph

    50kmh is about 30mph.
