Rust prevention - Got stuck in salt mud

Hi guys, so I bought my Disco.

Now unfortunately, today I got it bogged (to the axles) in a nasty salty mud estuary / slime.

I've spent a good few hours trying to get rid of every bit grime out of the under body. And tomorrow, I'll pop down to bunnings and buy a few sprinklers to go underneath.

But any recommendations to prevent future rust. I've been told covering it in lanolin oil might help?

Saltx to neutralise www.saltoff.com.au - Corrosion Control-SALT OFF

Then LOTS of lanolin oil - everywhere...

Being a member of the local SLSC and a boat owner my D2a is frequently driven on a beach and on boat ramps into salt water. Before each summer I high pressure wash the entire underside. Once it's dried I spray a coast of fish oil on everything.

The truck stinks for a few days afterwards and the overspray on hot parts burns off, but so far it's seems to have done a great job of stopping corrosion.

You can even use linseed oil too I believe.

I can't recall if it's the boiled variety or just plain.

One of them requires you to add some metho or maybe it's turps?

It's late. I should be sleeping but the 12 month old has been howling for 20 minutes so I'll stay away from that caper...
