    D2 rear windows not working

My front electric windows are working fine, but my rear windows don't work at all. The fuses are OK.

I'm about to go on a fault finding mission, but any help would be appreciated. I'm hoping it is not cracked solder joins in the BCU, but in case it is, could someone tell me where to find it and if there are any tricks to getting it out.

    Cheers Shane

Cheers Rob. Checked this. Not sure if this only disconnects the rear switches or not. But i cannot get the windows to operate using any rear window switch.

Weird voltages on the console switches. This includes the functioning front ones. No more than 1V on the working front windows. The rear less than 0.5V on the console switches. The rear door switches have O Volts on them.

No mater what switch i use the rear motor has 0V on it.

So this leads me to believe there is an issue with some control module for the rear windows. Unless there is some strange fuse somewhere that is blown, obviously not the power window fuses, i've check these

Where can i find this magic box of electronics? I need to fill it up with some more magic electrical smoke.

hmmm.....I too have problems. First time I noticed rear windows not working the rear circuit fuse had blown. They lasted a few days then kids said they stopped again. Haven't yet checked it out but I'd be interested in hearing what you've found....or I'll let you know what I found if I get to it first...

I've pulled out the BCU. De-soldered the relays from the PCB to test. The relays work fine. They are a dual package relays setup with a H-Bridge. Basically all that means is they are a dual package relay setup specifically to run motors, they can use this configuration to reverse the polarity on the motor to make it drive up or down in the case of electric windows.

I would have much rather found these relays were latched or had open circuit coils. I would have replaced them and be confident the windows would operate.

But now I will have to re-solder all the connections and hope for the best.

I'll let you know how I go.

No joy. Still no rear window function. I'm nearly ready to bypass it all and wire up 2 motor controllers from work.

OK I think I've worked it out. Block 7 rear relay will be my issue i believe. I'll check tomorrow, but this better be it.

That block diagram won't help you much, the BCU is not involved in the rear windows operation as much as in front ones, for the rear windows there's relay in the interior fusebox and it's managed by the IDM, ...the BCU has involvment in the stall condition and timer but would not stop them completely IMO

listen carefully near the interior fusebox while you operate a switch ...do you hear the relay clicking?, the main relay for rear windows is R3 interior fusebox, the first big one(or the only big one if it's not V8) under the two small indicator relays
    Discovery Td5 (2000), manual, tuned
