    Td5 discovery 2003 model won't start

    Hi all

Just after some advice if you can help.

Car was driving just fine and then stopped suddenly and would not start.

    - engine winds over just fine
    - can hear fuel pump running
    - no fault codes on nanocom
    - all of the orange lights flash (TC SLS HDC etc) on the dash when turning engine over
    - doesnt fire or attempt to start in any way, but turns over very quickly
    - all fuses checked and ok
    - plenty of fuel and fuel pressure evident
    - no oil evident at the ECU or at the injector loom plug

I am thinking Crank Angle sensor, but I am not sure why all of the orange lights are flashing.

    Any suggestions welcome.

    Thanks in advance

    Dave

    Hello,
Mine does it time to time, I lock and then unlock everything this fine not sure about your flashing lights. The only time I had something similar I juggled the wiring around the ecu plug.

Hi, even if it turns quickly find an assistent and better measure the voltage on the battery while cranking...if it drops below 10v it can make tricks but if it's below 9v it won't start for sure as the starter takes all the 'juice' and the ECU doesnt have enough to open the injectors, which means the battery is weak, if the voltage is good watch closely the exhaust while cranking, can you see any smoke or feel any smell or it's completely dead? that's important
    Discovery Td5 (2000), manual, tuned
