    Unhappy Bunny Hopping 2004 Discovery 2 V8 auto

    Good morning (and Merry Christmas) just purchased this six weeks ago and first noticed the problem driving down a freeway around 80 and it started to bounce. Then every time I hit a bit of the road that wasn't perfect it felt like being hit from behind. The suspension was like a rock - got home switched it off next day was OK, then few days later started again. Took it into Landrover who connected it up to the laptop and couldn't find anything wrong. Happened again this morning any ideas?
    Noticed an earlier post when the boost modulation was replaced for a diesel but not for a V8?

    Hi and Merry Christmas, is your D2 fitted with ACE? and if yes check if the warning lamp works on ignition self test or not cos that symptom seems like an ACE missbehaviour... a way to rule rule this out is to remove relay R14 in engine bay, go for a ride and see if it improves things or not... if the warning lamp is working you'll have the ACE warning on dash but neglect it during this test..according to the results we'll speak again

    Thanks for reply I know a minor mechanical bits so just checked out your response- car does have ace - checked the sequence on ignition and goes through as it should Red, Amber light then off after a second or so.

    Checked under the hood for fuse - noticed you said R14 - my manual says fuse number 15 for Active Cornering Enhancements - (implies 14 is Directional indicators Hazards lights)???

    Removed 15 and obviously light now stays on dash - will take it for a drive only issue is that it's random so may not happen - will drive it around for a bit to see if it comes back

    ... Just revisited fuse box after my earlier post and have now found R14 and not F15 .... Never removed R module before so how does it come out? Unlike a fuse which I've just put back in?

    it's ok F15 too, i said the relay cos it seemed easyer to locate and remove , you just gave to grab it and lift it... i've seen this symptom on a friend's car once and the ACE was playing up... the system with the fuse or eelay removed enters in ''locked bars'' condition which means inactive with the actuators evenly filled with oil and must act like with conventional anti roll ... that's why this test
