Ahh it's a disco, probably decided I'd had too good a run with it and should start to make me worried.
Bloke I got it off rang me back and was going to get me to open it and check but as soon as I told him I had and about the extra chip he said yep wrong key and is ordering another in for me to replace it for me next time I'm over the coast
Neither of these two keys match the one in sierrafery's post. USA spec could be different to ours.
The one from the pic i posted is a Rover75 key to show the difference (same as the one from Freelander inside) i opened my D2 key just to compare and it's exactly like wacoaus's original one,

Mine works w/out chip.
i doubt that without that chip the fob will comunicate with the passive immobiliser, maybe your's it's disabled(i mean the passive immobiliser) cos it's only a click with tester
