Who has or has had Koni shocks, looking for feedback.

I'm looking for feedback from people that have used Koni shocks on their Disco 2s.

    I'm particularly interested if there are/were the 82-2568 & 82-2569 +50mm shocks.

I currently have Terrafirma TF127 & TF128 +50mm shocks. They have good articulation, but crap road manners. They seem too lack damping in my eyes, and are getting worse after about 15,000km. But they did the GRR, Kalumburu Road, and out to Point Warrender. I have LR Automotive Purple/Yellow front & White/Green rear springs.

    Thanks.

I have raid 90's in mine, find them very good, I think koni's ride nicer than bilstiens but that's just my opinion from having owned both.

    Thanks, I guess you have the 90-5452 & 90-5453.

Good that you compared with the Bilstiens, as they are my other option.

I wasn't happy with the valving on mine They where bouncy at slow speeds, at high speed they where ok.
I also stuffed the fronts but not raising the front shock towers or extending the bump stops. I was running Kings coils 2" lift F: (KRFR-06) R: (KRRR-04) and had to swap the front spings to Dobinsons C51-052 has the kings were to soft.

Also had issues with bushes on the lower front with the koni. Maybe I had a bad batch. I'm currently running some cheap repco maxitrac nitro and they are much better than the koni. Also even thought the konis are rebuildable its going to cost atleast a $120 a shock and more for re-valve ontop.

Good shocks and well matched springs are a thing of beauty...i have billies and dobos and the old d2 really does compare well to lr air suspended vehicles. I think if you jump on discoweb and get through the crap some yanks also use konis. Both Deutch and both good i think

I have done just on 100K km with Std hight Konis on my SLS D2.

Includes GRR, Central Arnhem Rd Oodnadatta track etc and I can highly recommend thier excellent handling and supple ride.

After this distance the rebound damping is easily adjusted back to as if they were new, but the bump damping is not what it once was so they would need a rebuild before our next lap.

I would definitely buy another set or rebuild my existing set.
    Cheers

Hi, I'm new to D2, just bought a 03 D2 auto with 130k ..... i also had a 110 300tdi which i put koni heavy duty shocks on. did a 6 month trip up the Kimberly, all the deserts in between and south west from victoria, they performed incredibly well. They don't heat up and we pushed it. Did the carson track and out many inlets towing a camper and tinny..... Ill be putting them on my D2

Well I decided to get the Konis. They're currently sat on my work bench waiting for me to fit them. I've also got a pair of Polyairs and a set of front & rear radius arm bushes to fit.

Only thing I don't currently have is time
