    Sources for replacement Steering Wheel?

    G'day all,

My D2's steering wheel is pretty badly worn on the rim & I'd like to replace it with either a good secondhand jobbie or a (gulp!) new one.

Mine has the cruise-control and audio buttons.

    Anybody have any suggestions?

I'd suggest scanning Microcat for the part number and then Googling that for a start.

    Alternatively try eBay.

Steering wheels are the same for any configuration of paddle buttons.

Triumph rover spares in Lonsdale SA would likely have a few of them , what you would pay I have no idea.

Try Bundalene on this forum. Dunno how he'd ship it if he has one but he's not too far from Shaw's Darwin Transport

Mr Steering - Hand made quality leather steering wheel covers

Hand made quality leather steering wheel covers

I bought one of these for my D2, as the top was badly sunburnt.
I havnt had a chance to fit it yet, but I had a similar thing that I bought off ebay fitted to my Wifes car for the last 6 yrs and its lasted quite well, my dad got me onto them, he fitted them to 2 or 3 of his cars over the years.

X2 TRS in Adelaide. I got a nice leather wheel with cruise and audio for $200 just over 12 months ago from them.

Prior to that I had fitted a wheel cover, from Mr Steering on ebay. It certainly is a cost effective way of fixing a sun damaged wheel and looks pretty neat. Personally though the end result was a bit thick for my liking so i reverted to a factory leather wheel.

    Cheers

    Hi Dave,

I had a similar problem with my Defender steering wheel & ended up buying a leather cover from the UK. Has made a world of difference, was a joy to install but the result is excellent, did take 2 + hours though:

Also I notice that Exmoor Trim have some very nice looking replacement steering wheels in their latest catelouge.
