    Leaky windscreen...

    Evening folks!

Seen this type of thread a million times, I know! But my question relates quickly to the scuttle...is it easy to remove on a D2, or do I need to remove the bonnet to allow the scuttle to come out easily, as I've looked and it doesn't seem an easy task without removing the bonnet first...!?
My boss had a leak on his D3 and there's so much more clearance to remove the scuttle on the D3.

    Chars!

You have to remove at least one side of the bonnet, so preferably 2.
Someone replaced my windscreen without doing that so I have a broken plenum cover.

Funny...I've had the screen on my D2 replace by Novus 2wice, with no bonnet removal or plenum damage.

I have recently removed the plenum on mine to seal a leaking heater air intake. I found there was plenty of clearance without removing the bonnet. Production tolerances?...

Hmmm...I undid every bolt/nut/screw that I could, removed the wipers, etc...but no joy. On the basis of your info, I may have another look this weekend!

These things [D2] are just weird,
We've had LOTS of water leaks,, both drains on the sunroofs, most times these are known by the wet hoodlining and shower of water from the top B pillar seatbelt loop (doesnt Di love that one--) both sides.
but now, just after a screen replacement, I have a soaked carpet under the drivers right foot. no wet spots on the lining.
no funny smells and no pink stains, so I'm guessing its rain.
Could this be from the new screen?
or from the scuttle panel thats cracked and lifted off the screen??

In my opinion, a cracked scuttle panel should not contribute to a leak as long as the steel underneath is not rusted, and the drain holes at each end are clear. Mine leaked when facing downhill as the HVAC intake under the scuttle panel was distorted and had pulled the seal away from the steel bulkhead panel, but that was wetting the passenger side. If it's driver's side it could be the wiper mechanism support panel which also has a rubber seal. However, since you have had a new screen fitted and it wasn't leaking before, that would be the first thing I would suspect.

I had a wet floor with a dry top a while ago. Turns out the issue was the little black rubber square that is located where the doors are attached to the body. It covers a hole where the "locking arm" or whatever its called is attached. My piece had come unstuck a bit and was letting water in. Filling a body gap then leaking out via a hole inside the car.
