    Unhappy Hi there

I presently own a 2004 manual Td5 Disco 2 diesel great car question is: what if any sealant / gasket is needed to be replaced in the transfer box and gear box after the main engine seal, thrust bearing and clutch have been replaced. any help will be much appreciated, I am not too up on this lovely wagon but need to learn fast, last mechanic didn't replace rear engine seal that I paid to have done and has agreed to do the job, I need to know more about what that job entails as I will be there this time, any help gratefully appreciated.

am not sure about a manual, but it's a good idea to replace the output shaft seal in the gearbox the input shaft seal , the input shaft seal of the LT230, and probably replace the oring on the intermediate shaft at a minimum.
This is for an auto but probably the same for a manual.

It is easy to get to the front and rear output shaft seals with the LT230 in situ, but if they are leaking it is easy to replace them while the transfer case is out.
    regards Philip A
