In a rebuilt trans i would be worrying , who fitted the trans ?

Just had a reconditioned auto with an additional tranny cooler fitted by a reputable dealer. When cold, it takes about 30sec after selecting D or R before any movement happens even with the revs at a fast tickover.
The pan has been removed & another filter fitted in case the O ring was incorrectly seated. Also filled with new oil. Once initial drive has started, the box works fine.
I'm wondering if the problem is with the auto box or with the additional oil cooler plumbing. Should there be a non return valve somewhere to prevent the oil draining back maybe? Has something been assembled backwards in the box?
My old, very worn box displayed the same symptoms when cold but not for anywhere near as long a time. Should I be worrying?

I'll keep quiet about who fitted the tranny for now but I am sure that they will do the right thing. I just have to be sure of my facts.

Definitely an upstream air leak possibly even somewhere in the pump housing or the valve body where it is attached to the main case. I have seen a similar symptom although not as chronic as you are experiencing when the valve body separator plate gasket is torn or not sealing.
Jc
The Isuzu 110. Solid and as dependable as a rock, coming soon with auto box😊
The Range Rover L322 4.4.TTDV8 ....probably won't bother with the remap..😈
I would go back to the fitter , if you stuff it you will be stuck without any warranty.

The fitter is aware of the problem & has replaced the filter as the first fix. I have no doubt that it will be rectified somehow.
Considering the amount of money I have paid for all the works done on the vehicle, I don't plan on spannering it myself. I'm just trying to gain a little knowledge so that I am better able to understand what could be wrong.
Thanks again.
