so theres no aftermarket intakes? like tunnel ram? no carbie upgrade to get rid of the efi for a pair of holleys?? no bling at all?? surely theres something its a v8 after all
Oh some of the kids like the Holleys until they find they are not worth a damn offroad, and the car floods and stops on any steep hill. Then they come looking for a set of Strombergs.

There is one bloke that I saw trick up an old RRC? with a Holley and chrome aircleaner and painted the engine red AFAIR and post pictures here but generally no.
Besides the blokes that want to do that generally put a decent V8 in like the one in WA who has fitted a Ford F series V8 with lots of mods and bling or fit a Gen111or 4. BUT that is BIG effort and big bucks and big engineering effort. There are quite a few old RRcs with 350Chevs,400 Chevs or Holden 308s around but they are mostly getting very old now

As you may have gathered by now, Land Rover owners generally don't DO bling.
I have a 1999 TD5. I have just had the roof and bonnet repainted.
I don't go off roading much but do enjoy driving bush tracks and beach.
I don't see the point of seeing how deep a mud hole is by driving through it.
I know my landy is able to get through most of them.
I can hear the howls from some people who love that stuff. I understand that too as I used to do it as well.
I also understand you desire to trick a car. Show cars Is where that is.
If you want to do that , good on you. However you will not find a ready accessories market out there from which to pick up your parts.
    Good luck and have fun.

I was thinking about this thread last night.

I think you changed your definition mid way.

BLING to me is chromed rockers, brake vacuum reservoir, air cleaner etc etc. Running wires in tubes , metal mesh covered hoses, filling all the holes in the firewall, painting the block and so on.

Engine mods are a different thing.

A Holley for performance is OK but doesn't work off road.

A lot of blokes on here do engine mods but it is illegal to retrofit a carby to injection, so most of the mods like cams, big capacity, chips etc are not visible. The exception being extractors which are generally not worth the effort on later V8s because the exhaust manifolds are quite good.

Personally, I had a Thor manifold fitted to a 14CUX 3.9 , Unichip, modded heads, later injectors, free flow exhaust,O2 sensors and more.

However none of this was IMHO bling, as the intention was to be under the radar of roadworthy providers and cops, and be legal and look stock to the casual observer.

Havent seen anyone wanting to get rid of a D2 fuel injection to replace with a carby (Holley of all things - chuck a HEAP of fuel down...). D2 Bosch Motronic injection is brilliant - and off road as said above off road fuel injection wins every time.

I like the black range rover 4.6 Rocker Covers if that helps But only if it has a 4.6 below it...

    Cheers
