Considering these vehicles age now (12 to 17 years old) it is to be expected that a lot of rubber based items will fails (SLS airbags, gaskets, seals, hoses, bushes, etc.) just based on the age - even if you bought a low km vehicle. It's a second hand car, you should be expecting a level of this - although it is annoying when it happens one at a time rather than multiple things at once which allows you to take it off the road, repair and then get back to driving...

Yeah, I can't say I'm surprised that it's all happening. My partners XR8 is the same age ('03), and my horse float is too, and both of them have started needing repairs.

The Disco2 site has been a huge help. And I'm pretty sure I've seen posts on here with photos of that Disco. Basically has talked us through step by step.

She's a good car. I'm feeling more confident after chatting to a friend last night who has a Defender. He reassured me of it all.

But the coffee break is over. I must go back to playing TA. Good learning experience this is!

Doesn't sound like too much wrong at all!

I did not use my TD5 much at all for the first 18 months and found everything leaked. Now all fixed and used as a daily car I quite like it, although never as good as the V8!

    Cheers, Jerry
