    ACE actuator weeping oil

    Hi

I saw the front right hand side ace actuator is wet of oil. It is not dripping and when I check the reservoir it drops from max to min. It may have been weeping for a while.

Anyone has experience with this and can tell me where it leaks? Is it the actuator or something else? If it the actuator, can it be fixed or I need to replace with a new one. Thanks.

First thing I would do is wipe it clean, top up, and monitor to see if it is actually leaking. A bit of oil weeping over a long time would not worry me. Check over the full system and clean up anywhere it may be weeping to give yourself a clean starting point to monitor.

they used to leak through the washers at the banjos, special type with rubber insertion, google out RYF100420, but as said, better investigate first, if it's the actuator you need to replace it

The washers with a seal on the inside are called Dowdy Seals. But these are not normally used with banjo fittings. That said there are banjo seals that do have seals and some that have a hardened cutting edge. Dowdys are available from any hydraulic supplier and I'd be surprised if they didn't just give them to you. Certainly shouldn't be more than a few $$$ a vehicle set.

IMO you better buy those washers too cos the old ones will not seal well once removed
