    Windscreen fitment

some time back i had a new windscreen fitted about two weeks after i took it back to the fitter and asked about the large gaps on the top corners of the screen,I was told that it is part of the drain system,I must admit it has gone the entire wet without leaking however today i thought i would re fit the plastic corner bits as the were loose, does this look correct

    If it is..

This is what it should look like (attached). White - 03 D2a, red - 01 D2.

Was your top windscreen seal replaced with a new one?

If it was a new seal then it was either faulty or cut along there? as it is a 1 piece seal. see pic.

I recently noticed the plastic piece the windscreen washers exit out of adjoining the bottom of the screen on my D2 is broken - after having a new screen installed

Not sure if this was there before fitting the new screen, however I'm a little concerned where any water goes that makes it through the crack - should I be worried?

    Scuttle Panel below windscreen

    Hi GBE,
Even when there is no crack in the piece you describe (and I think it's called a scuttle panel), that panel often does not make a tight seal against the windscreen. Where this is the case, water gets under it anyway.
A subscriber named Forged recently asked a similar question, and I have copied my reply to him:
    Hi Forged,
If you have not been getting water coming in on the floor in the front passenger-side footwell, then I don't think it matters how much water gets under the scuttle panel.
Under that panel are drains that lead to just in front of the front doors, one on each side.
Under the LHS (that is, the passenger side) of the scuttle panel, located above and behind the drain channel, is a raised air intake for the cabin ventilation. On mine, that intake was an open rectangular hole facing UP!
Water was getting into it and appearing on the front-passenger floor.
I fixed that by making a hood for the air intake out of heavy aluminium foil that I shaped by hand and glued over the air intake hole with silicone. Air can still enter under the hood, it just "roofs over" the intake hole.
    Cheers, Andrew
