Thread: 2001 discovery TD5 engine cut off help needed

As you've changed 4 genuine looms lately and used that sealant IMO better not do that anymore cos even if by logic it can't hurt that might make you the trouble, let the genuine loom as it is cos it's well made, mine is being on for 4 years and at least 100.000 Km without any probs, still dry like a bone and no injector fault codes... just an idea, rule out the main relay R9 (swap with R8-heated screen) just to rule it out cos if it has a weakened spring it might be sensitive to gravitational action one way and that would deffinitely cut out if it goes wrong, it's a piece of cake but worth a try

I had switched over ALL the relays with it's neighbours...
Put in other relays I had as a spare, non was influencing the cut-out phenomena when the car is side slope to the right.

I did not make any logical sense it's an electric issue, all symptoms were pointing towards fuel no arriving to engine, other electronic roll over protection like the Interia switch on the engine firewall.

Ordered new loom and gasket, will replace and check all misfiring totally disappeared.

dont you have the possibility to plug in a tester?, maybe if there are some fault codes stored one would point you in the right direction
