Getting more leg room - seat rail extenders?

Just wondering if anyone makes a seat rail extender for the disco a la those available for the defender?
After driving a RR for too long the Disco feels a little cramped for my legs

AFAIK it is not possible to extend the seat rails (easily) as the seat is an integral unit with the base. It is also not easily possible to move the whole seat back as the LF mount is on the front of a strengthening cross member.

I fitted Recaros to my bases , but this involved a cut and weld operation, and I was able to move the seat back on the rails an inch. It would be difficult to do this with stock seats as they are pressed steel.

If you have power seats someone on an earlier thread said that there was a stop on them which could be modified back.

Ive modified my power seats in my 2000 es disco - got up to an extra 4 inches back.

2 things need to be done.

1 - cut out or drill out the lugs in the back of the rail that prevent the seat from sliding back.

2 - make up small extender plates and move the motors in the seat.

follow this link - it explains how to do it.

I only did the drivers seat - took me about 2 hours, but i stuffed around a lot being the first time ive done it. If i had to do another one i reckon id do it in 30 mins easy.

Im 6'4 so needed the extra legroom - everything still works as it did before - just that you can slide back further. Lots more room and much more comfortable for us long legged fellows ....

You don't need a sabre saw. I did it without one. I just drilled the lugs out from underneath. They are pretty soft steel, so drill out pretty easy.

I don't know how true it is.
My cousin just bought a d2, and he noticed it had more leg room than his previous one.
The guy seat he turned the seat rails around and it allowed the seat to go back further.

Having had the seats out from what I recall the mounts are very different and so this doesn't sound feasible.
