    New to D2s.

    Hello All,
I have just bought 2002 D2 td5 auto. This a whole new world for me as my other vehicle is a isuzu 120. So far I am really liking it. When I got it it had 335 000kms. Seems to go fine. A few oil leaks but nothing major.

Now the questions Does anyone around bundaberg have a nanocom they could plug into it?

I have the 3 amigo's, but I have been trawling through the treads and will do a couple of checks tomorrow. Reading the computer would speed things up I think.

Another thing, should the abs pump thing make a little tiny noise all the time even when the car is locked? The previous owner has added some wires to plug for it.

It has chip, it is a separate box wired into the ecu. There is a little jumper that can be moved to 7 different levels. I think the sticker inside says berrima diesel. Are these chips any good? I have moved it back to 0 until I know better. The install seemed a bit rough considering the chip box was floating around behind the fuse box in the engine bay.

The air con, stereo, and smooth engine are great, I must be getting soft.

welcome to the world of D2 ownership Dan.

when you have nothing to do, sit down and just read this section, and refer to it constantly....you will understand things and be able to to just about anything to your D2.

btw , you are not getting soft , you are awakening.

Welcome and congrats on getting a D2.

Does the tuning box have its own power supply. If so you can disconnect power and still leave plugged in and you are back to the standard set up. If it has its own power supply, then one option is to make up a trigger switch under the throttle to only power up the tuning box when you have full throttle. Full throttle is about the only time you want a tuning box to lengthen the injection times - the rest of the time it is essentially messing up the normal fuel mapping.

A better option is a remap from Td5inside...search the AULRO forum for more details.

Hmm I will have to have a look tomorrow and see if it has its own power. As it is I have to check out some of the wireing. Found some wires going to the battery that aren't fused, that I don't what they do, disconnected them and haven't found anything not working. Don't like unfused power wires.

    Thanks for the help.

The D2 does make the long drives a lot less tiring.
(I have done 5000km in the last 5 weeks)

Welcome aboard. Search for Nanocom owners on the site. There should be one in bundy.
Abs should make a sound all the time. Extra wires may mean option b mod has been done.
Berrima Diesel most probably means dp chip unit. Costs $1200+. Ecu remap is better but cost $; less than dp chip unit if looking at options.

Thanks for the info on the abs Bsperka.

Also I have tried to search for nanocom owners here on AULRO with a general search, with no luck, is there a specific place I should look?

    Cheers.

Wow, I didn't get anything like that. I shall have to try harder.

Thanks. Might have to look at when I am next going to rockhampton or brisbane.

    Cheers.
