    power window problems.....

while I was out on my recent trip the passenger window started opening on its own.

while in Longreach pulled the trim and found a broken nylon guide roller , which allows the remaining metal pin to jump out of the regulator.

so I tied it up with wire (just to keep the show on the road, hey true blue...) in the upright position for the rest of the trip.

couple of days ago I bought a new regulator from British Offroad and changed it over.

put everything back powered grumble , pressed the switch....whirrrr , but no movement.

so, pull the trim , regulator out, disconnect actuator and test independant of reg and window.

I could stop the actuator with my fingers.

so, before I buy a new actuator, I open up the old and find the internals....moulded plasticy rubbery type drive disc thingy......cracked in several places.

new actuator ordered, actually second hand, from British Offroad, probably fit it tomorrow.

the story I've told just to inform readers that things like this are starting to break on the 16y/o car.

also may quickly point to similar problems others may find.

Heh heh, I have my drivers door window being held up with two rubber door stops jammed against the glass. At least if I want to open I just lift out the door stops and the glass comes down.
