Engine won't rev for a couple of min when drive selected FO

    Has anyone had this issue?

1999 TD5 auto with 327,000 on the clock.

When started, for a couple of minutes when drive is selected, there is no acceleration , absolutely zero. After a couple of minutes idling, away see goes.
Seems to happen either cold or after sitting for a while. It's fine if turned off for shorter durations.

I have just changed the MAF sensor and this has helped as it was a lot worse.

Could there be a lazy temp or pressure senser on the gearbox?

What should I be looking for on the nanocom?

    Thanks in advance.

Hi, do u know how old the auto box is? It could be getting tired, mine did that when it got due for an overhaul. Yes could be sticking solinoids or low fluid. There will be little to nothing showing on the nanacom. Change the atf and filter and see what the oil tells you..

Do the revs pick up when you accelerate, or is there no change?.

Not initially. It could take 10 sec (a very long time when pulling out into traffic) to reach about the 1800 rpm range when the turbo cuts in and away she goes.

Apparently, gearbox had been serviced not long before I bought it a couple of months ago. Unfortunately I have no idea of it's history.
Other than this issue, changes smoothly and seems fine.
Will check fluid in the morning.

As outback 1 said , check oil in ecu and clean map first, but if it has been doing it since you bought it , and it has had head or timing chain work done then its possible the cam timing is out

Ah yes, I was told that the head was removed and pressure tested. All was well so put back together with new harness. Is here a simple method to check timing?

You will need to remove rocker cover, you're supposed to use locking pins in crank and cam , but may be hard to find in Brunei , you can use drill bits , look in the aulro search bar on how to do it .
