With the stuff I listed earlier, if there's hose damage you can replace it without even removing the fittings from the tube or cooler. If the cooler gets damaged you can even bypass it with just a spare length of hose, which you may carry anyway and 2 female fittings to adapt each end.

Southcott hydraulics have the steel fittings, hose and push lok hose ends. Motorsport connections have the alloy fittings. The alloy ends size by the weld end, it's tapered and the right one fits over the cooler pipe perfectly. I'll try to find the receipts for part numbers.

After learning about this, I will definitely be going down this track.
I hate the way modern cars have these clip on fittings for fuel/transmission lines etc.

Makes it impossible to carry spares. In the case of a D2 you would have to carry 2 complete cooling lines.
    Dave.

I was asked " Is it ignorance or apathy?" I replied "I don't know and I don't care."

Yes the mechanic had already taken the pipe to the cooler out. I had already ordered another spare pipe, and took this with the damaged pipe to Pirtek to get the angle of the rubber hose correct
