Thanks for the info.
Could the ECU checksums be backed-up prior to syncing unit to the car being used to modify BCU settings?
If they can be backed up onto a Nanocom, would this then allow the BCU to be re-written with the ECU pairing checksum\codes before removal from the "donor" car?

No. It's a system function to synch the units together. The two units talk to each other once forced into the right mode.

If u are using and SD card in nanocom you can store the original settings on it but as long as you only want to unlock the nanocom in another car IMO you dont have to alter original settings only to remobilise it and disable the alarm/immobilisers then remove it if you see what i mean... you have to make it learn the security code of the ''host'' and alter settings only if you want to start that car and dive it, not necessary for your purpose
maybe i didnt put it well about the "self sync'ing" i meant that while nanocom is plugged in it can go mad and sync the odometer without request cos in relation with the BCU it used to have a mind of it's own from time to time... happened to me believe me(didnt even go in that section) that's why i warned you to be on the safe side....maybe the last ''beta'' firmware upgrade cured that but i can't confirm
i also know methods of altering the stored odometer values but it's ''invasive'' and not making them public either
Good luck
