    Brisbane to Sydney test run

Well after leaving Brisbane about 0130 hrs towing my tool trailer (about1300kg) and with a small load in back around 100 kg all went well shifts are smooth and quick and with the temp gauge sender plumbed into the oil pump outlet took note of the temps.

The following temps are as follows outside air temp at 16 degrees cruising at 110 the trans temp sat at 58 degrees once sun came out and air temp went to 20 the trans sat on 63, when I got past Newcastle and around white mountain and surrounding hills keeping close to the speed limit (the EGT gauge has changed my driving style a little) the trans temp went to around 76 degrees with an outside air temp of 24.

Reaching outskirts of Sydney and travelling pennant hills road stop start traffic temp would go up and down but never over 74 degrees I also have a lower stall converter fitted from Melbourne, I am happy how everything went and no problems I did fit an auxiliary cooler in series with original and apparently this makes it run 33% cooler.
disco seriesII mods so far:-bullbar,hyd winch,
detriot locker, lsd front,C.D.L kit, chipped and bigger intercooler,2" lift, rock sliders, lsd in transfer case, modified auto trans.

Just a quick note the two pipes are a different size the outlet is 1/2 inch tubing and the return is 12mm tubing the only reason i can think of them doing that is to offer a small amount of resistance to the return oil to slow it down through oil cooler

I've got to say, having just swapped out from my rooted gearbox to a recon ashcroft one on my car port, that I've been blown away at your rate of progress. I know I wasn't cracking on, but even so it was probably 5 weeks, doing stuff only on the weekends. Should have been 4 but I screwed up.
You've made me slightly tempted to look inside my old box, but only tempted

I'm really impressed by both the rebuild and the time taken, well done!

"Someone should put that in TGO" - Expectation Tense
