    Time for all things

Well, I got a new H Balancer fitted on Wed. I reckoned the disco is getting to the stage where the major bits start rolling over, 270k.So its preemptive strike time Dropped it to BOR after educating them to the availibility of an aussi made balancer :O Very nicely made the Ross is It seems none to soon as the minor chirp I was getting at switch off was about to escalate to an avairy of galahs! So happy now.
Well until I got home and turned into the shed, an almighty squeal and thats the p/s pump gone west! It seems to have missed its mate the hb.Have a nice pool of oil under there now . So more work! Ahh the joys

Hi Scott - HB sounds beaut. Have to changed your waterpump yet? Might be worth doing when you do the PS pump if not done already as well as the oring behind the waterpump bracket.
    Cheers

Yes Simon, have done the pump and oring a while back, well I did the pump twice, installed a newie, filled with new coolant, did the obligitory run around the block to check. Came out next morning to a pool of coolant ! The pump was a brand new itpart faulty special So ordered a genuine (as I should have first off) and all good.

Do you mind sharing the price on the Ross Harmonic balancer? I will be needing one soon and these looked interesting.

    Thanks

Funny, the same happened to me. Expensive exercise in the space of 2 days. I'm up at 330k & have replaced the gearbox, both rear wheel bearing assemblies, the alternator, HB & steering pump, IAT, both front seats, tranny cooler hose, all within the last 20k. Almost all new now!

Milton I gather you bought a pair of seats, the hose blew off causing the gearbox failure, but why two wheel bearing assemblies? do you launch a lot of boats?

No problem, $925 plus fitting, which of course will vary from lotsa swearing and skint knuckles for a diy to maybe a dizzy faint feeling due to the unbalanced empty hip pocket feeling for a shop fitment. I must say the ross is well finished and feels more substantial than the original. Get it done sooner than later, much better driving the d2 in than having it on a tray!

Yes Milton, I know how that feels,I noticed the pump leaking a while ago slightly, thought it was just the oring on the hose fitting :\

Pedro, I broke the flex plate towing the van but had already been warned that the box was tired. Seeing that it was out, just a precaution, just a lot of $, a recon unit was fitted. Need a decent box to manage the chip/intercooler & the 20psi boost. Wish I had chipped sooner. Goes like stink now!
