Start but does not go

Before replacing the switch , just check the dash display correlates with what gear you have selected, also turn wipers on and select reverse to see if rear wiper comes on , if these do what they are supposed to then the switch is fine , it should go in to gear even with faulty switch , if the oil level in transmission is OK and the filter isn't blocked you probably need another trans as the clutches in that one are probably u/s. You can try doing as dazza suggested to get it moving if you need to but keep your foot on the brake.

Dazza , what do you do with the auto's you remove? Would you let me have one in exchange for beer:angel:

check the fluid level, check the selector is connected to the cable
check it hasnt droped into neutral, check that it holds in P with the handbrake off, check that its not a dud cv or diff letting a propshaft spin with it in drive

if all thats good and your luck its the spud shaft to the gearbox. if a thats good and its not the spudshaft you might (but most likely not) have a failed strainer/pump seal an its just not priming)

other than that if everything else is ok and its none of the simple stuff its box out...

if you can hear an intermittant ringing noise from the front of the box then its done the flex plate. your call as to doing an engine pull or a box drop.

Check the display and it correlatess with the gear stick. Forgot to test rear wiper with reverse selected.

He said the fluid is fine but probably I check it myself.

Plugged a nanocom and found fault 2,47- problem with auto detected. I assume it the auto trans but it does not say whats wrong with the trans.

I will try the rear wiper later I need to recharge the battery again. Did not want to start again after first switch off engine probably battery is already dead.

Any idea about the fault shown on nanocom?
