Thread: Bilstein 7100 what is so good about them?

So who stocks these 7100,apparently no one in Australia knows about them, which means you need to buy over the net, which creates its own problems,in so far as they require valving, travel length etc. Honestly,I wouldn't have a clue about such things! And as far as crawling underneath to make adjustments, forget about it.To buy the good quality shock specified for your vehicle requirements takes the guess work out of your choice.I think the top manufacturers(like Bilstein) put a bit into R&D.The more I think about it the more confused I get.

I've got 7100 on both the RRC and the 130. Got them from GBR in Utah, Length and valving depends on what you are planning to do with the vehicle. Both of mine are lifted about 2" so with 12" SB 7100 I have extended the shock turrets by 2" and gone for different rear shock mounts. For damping I have the 100/400 valving but could probably go a bit more on the back of the 130 for when fully loaded (easy to re-valve at home). Over all best shocks I've used. If you get them ask for Poly bushes instead of the Heim joints.

    Some?

They don't look like two minute old shock absorbers to me.

Please, fill us in on the details.

Ok, enough is enough. I've moved a few posts for the time being while the Mods look at them, questioning and attacking a Mod for doing a job here is simply not on and won't be tolerated. The posts in question were removed after discussion by 5 Mods in total so singling out the person who actually made the changes is wrong and uncalled for.

If the next post isn't back on topic I'll close this thread until everyone calms down.
If you need to contact me please email homestarrunnerau@gmail.com - thanks - Gav.

Might as well delete the whole thread. It's lost now.

If anyone wants to know about the 7100 shocks, near everything you want to know is right here:
    http://www.aulro.com/afvb/discovery-...7100-a-30.html

There are plenty of people running them and if there is something else you want to know, ask there as many of the guys running them will be subsribed to that thread.

Please re-instate my posts, the first one was on topic, and neither of them have broken any rules.
