    Td5 overheat limp mode

Hey guys, just wondering if anyone knows what temp the engine goes into limp mode.
Coming home today as I was driving along all of a sudden the engine lost power, looked down at the dash and the temp was up so shut the car off and pulled over.
The bleed screw in the top radiator hose had separated the brass insert the lot had gone and let the coolant go.
Anyway waited for an hour and shoved an old bolt in the hole, re filled with water and drove the last couple of ks home.
Replaced the hose when I got home and refilled with coolant and took it for a hard drive up some steep long hills and it all seems good.
So what temp does limp mode come on, when we pulled over the car wasn't gurgling or steaming so I really am crossing my fingers that I haven't hurt the ol girl...

    Cheers Roger

iirc the ecu will start to cut fuelling at 115? when the light comes on
Keep watching the level and temp gauge , you should be OK but there may be a reason the pressure was high enough to blow the bleed screw out .

Yeah thanks for that mate, time will only tell, I had broken the plastic bleed screw, seem to weep so give it an extra tighten all good then a week later weeping again until I broke it and found a stainless bolt to put in its place. Seem to have the same trouble with the stainless bolt so I am hoping that might be the explanation as to why the bleed screw parted company.
