Thread: Failed fuel line

Although this happened last year , I thought it still worthwhile to show a photo of my fuel line failure on the GRR. I just found the bit I cut off when preparing for another trip.

You may note the date of 2004 on the line which says it has been replaced before probably in the recall, as mine is a 2002. So a mechanic caused this problem of the height sensor/ fuel filter loom rubbing on the pipe.

The failure was just at the turn as the pipe turned forwards along the chassis rail.

That's why I take a short piece of efi hose with 4 worm drive clamps wherever I go.. Saved by that hose on GRR in 2007!!!


Philip, your post reminds me that I should replace it - at the statutory 8 year mark.
