Possibly upgraded to a NNN ECU as well without knowing.
My bearings are slightly noisy sometimes after shutting down the engine I can hear them winding down. Interesting that it is not every time.
I'll get a second hand hopefully low k's turbo and replace it, adjust the boost correctly and monitor the EGT again.
Either that or you need a rebuild VERY badly.
I can just imagine those bearings spinning around in their seats. LOL!

I tried 2 turns with negative net benefit, just not smooth to drive. So turned back to what it was and the power is back on the throttle nice and early without aggressive kick down. It makes me believe that the actuator setting is critical to smooth performance in relation to the mapping and getting the power to the wheels and should not be looked at in isolation to just increase boost without a remap maybe.

Interesting, (i didnt realise thatbyour's is not remapped, sorry) mine is remapped and it was sluggish at low revs with standard setting and didnt exceed 1.2 bar under load though i have big intercooler too maybe that's why, with the new forge actuator i adjusted it to a ''micron'' below the overboost limit and i'm pleased to have a rapid take off and max boost under load this way and as i'm often towing a boat i need that... if you adjusted your's with two turns and it didn't go to overboost under heavy throttle it means that with standard setup you have way below the max ''affordable'' boost but if that's the way you like it i have no comment more, maybe you should have backed up one turn only before going directly back to standard
Hi Sierrafery,
The reason I replaced the ECM is I damaged the original fitting a remapped chip. However since changing the actuator it goes better than it ever has in the last ten years. At 420K I'm more than happy where it is now until the next time I play with it.
thanks
Nick
Replacement 200,000 km old turbo fitted today. Did not adjusted the boost levels just bolted it on.
Factory MAP
Boost 21 PSI
EGT 620 max
Remap
Boost 21 PSI
EGT 780 Max
A vast improvement. There was still some boost fluctuations at 4,000 RPM on the factory map it but didn't detect an error but on the remap Nanocom logged a Air Flow High fault and limited boost.
The Boost modulator valve thing is still bypassed and disconnected. I guess i'll replace it and see if the fluctuations at 4,000 RPM disappear. After that i'll stop driving it so hard!!! I don't intend to flog it but want to know if i am about to flog it everything will work.
