    ABS sensor connection points

    Hi There,
I am trying to find out where the ABS sensor cable connection points are, specifically the left hand rear sensor from the back where the plug comes off the axel and meets the body work, where to from there?

From there is the cable just one long length to where ever it goes to or are there other connection points under the vehicle somewhere?

Where does the front end of the wire connect to? The ABS unit I am assuming under the bonnet, yes?

    Thanks for any assistance rendered.

    Cheers Marty.

From the rear sensor plug/socket it is a cable straight to another plug C0392 (Not sure where that is at the moment) then to the SLABS module. This is behind the glovebox.

C0392 is by the fuse box in the engine bay, I wasn't expecting that.

Pins 1 & 2 are for the LH rear sensor, 3 & 4 the RH rear sensor.

there is normally a plug just above the rear axle the sensors plug into however if you are soldering in a long wire unit you can do it where kelvo suggested or back to the ecu

Behind my glove box looks like this

    Hi There,
So I have taken a picture behind my glove box and it looks like this.................

Can I assume that the wires in the top left hand corner are the ABS sensor wires?

They go to connector C0505, RH Rear sensor pins 3 & 6, LH Rear sensor pins 7 & 8. The connector in your photo is C0664.

So here is a question for you all......

    Hi There,
Does the ABS system take a signal from the ABS sensors all the time or only when the brakes are applied?

I am assuming because the sensors also activate the traction control that the sensors are "connected" all the time.

My "Three Amigos" will stay inactive for as long as I am driving without applying the brakes, even then they may not come to life on the first three or four occasions of braking. Then suddenly they're up again.

I have checked the voltage at the supply connection under the rear wheel arch and I have a consistent 4.96 volts or there abouts.

This does really "feel" like a connection issue, I have now checked the one behind the fuse box all looks clean and good. Yet to venture into the glovebox.

    Cheers Marty.

The ABS sensors are used all the time, their inputs are also averaged to 'drive' the speedo.
