yes i hear you. The diesel does drive very differently and this being my first Ive had to adjust. The torque on the diesel is amazing, turbo kick took a while to get used to. Fuel economy is special. All in all I cant believe i didnt change years agoQuote:

I have just done the figures on my 4.6 manual D2. 31 inch AT's; 100kg of LPG gear in the rear; TJM front bar, Fridge, APT sliders, roof rack (2 up people usually) etc etc etc and using it for city work in and out from the western suburbs in a combination of bumper to bumper peak hour and 50k of highway running I returned 15.4 litres per 100k...or per the raw figures 86 litre of petrol and returning 557klm...not bad although I was driving for economy and using the torque keeping the revs low. Gives a theroetical max range of over 600klm but obviously you wouldnt let it get lower than about 9 litres left in the tank.Quote:

Road speed. 90kmhr or less (not really aerodynamic). You're pushing a block of flats into the breeze :p
Lift. More lift, more drag under the vehicle.
Weight, weight, weight.
I have a stock standard manual Td5 with 270000 on the clock, I get 10.28 litres per 100km, so about 925 kms on a tank assuming 90 litres per tank. This is suburban driving, to work and back round trip of about 20kms, speed limits from 40 to 70.
