Before you go nuts and change them, think about what my mate and I have done.
We removed the clamping bolt and held the clamp in a pair of vise grips. We then ran a thin 100mm metal cutting disc grinder through the gap to take out a bit of meat and make the gap a little wider. Worked like a charm for both of us.
